Every actor's best friend on set is the director of photography. The cinematographer is literally behind the camera making sure everyone and everything is well lit during production. Julio Macat is a veteran Hollywood cinematographer. DADDY'S HOME 2's director of photography (DP) reveals a few funny stories about working with Mel Gibson and Mark Wahlberg on the set. Watch below.
The Argentinian-born DP wroked his way up from the ranks of the Hollywood Cameraman's Union ladder. His first job as a cinematographer, ironically was a Christmas movie, HOME ALONE (1990). He has since worked behind the camera on other comedies such as WEDDING CRASHERS, THE BOSS, ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE, the first DADDY'S HOME and countless other comedies. In our sit down with Macat, he explains how he likes to work, his style and what it was like working with the stars of DADDY'S HOME.
Opening November 10, Mark Walhberg and Will Ferrell reunite for a sequel to DADDY'S HOME. This time father and stepfather Dusty and Brad are co-parenting and getting along spendily that is until Dusty's father played by Mel Gibson shakes up their relationship. The two combine their families to make Christmastime perfect for the children. Their newfound partnership soon gets put to the test when Dusty's old-school, macho dad and Brad's gentle father arrive to turn the holiday upside down.
