Mel Gibson Gets His Own Corrido For GET THE GRINGO

The corrido is a popular Mexican narrative song and ballet usually created for legendary heroes, infamous criminals, or more recently sung about the drug cartel.  In the corrido-inspired song by the Mexican group Banda Machos, the lyrics narrate the troubles of Mel Gibson's character in GET THE GRINGO. Although Gibson's personal life in the media lately also merits his own corrido.

Mel Gibson and his Icon Productions produced GET THE GRINGO, a dark comedy set in Mexico. Mel Gibson co-wrote the movie with director Adrian Grunberg.  In GET THE GRINGO, Mel Gibson lands in Mexico during a high-speed car chase with the U.S. Border.  Gibson's character is sent to a hard-core Mexican jail, but escapes into a dangerous world of "El Pueblito"  where he meets a 10-year-old boy (Kevin Hernandez) to guide him to safety.

GET THE GRINGO premieres on DirectTV May 1st for the premium price of $9.99 in HD and be followed by the film's wide release on Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and digital download later this year.
