Black Widow Scarlett Johansson

Marvel released a new teaser trailer for BLACK WIDOW starring Scarlett Johansson, and it seems the story doesn't take place before her Avenger days, but somewhere in between. We also get to see a lot of cool action scenes, and a first look at David Harbour as Alexei aka The Red Guardian, Rachel Weisz and this year's break out star Florence Pugh as Natasha's sister. A new simple but effective movie poster was also released.

Many presumed BLACK WIDOW would get a sort of origins story, or pre-Avengers plot but the new trailer throws out those theories. The preview opens with a narration by Natasha explaining her reason for leaving her Avenger family to sort out her past as a Russian spy. While it doesn't specify when she returned to Russia, one outlet states the events occur between CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. This may be confusing for many since Natasha sacrificed her life in AVENGERS: ENDGAME so Black Widow is no more after the final AVENGER film.

BLACK WIDOW opens May 1, 2020.

Official Synopsis:
