Birds of Prey Harley Quinn

The first BIRDS OF PREY trailer has arrived, and don't expect the Joker to make an appearance. The teaser trailer reveals a few things about the story and Quinn's current state of mind. Watch the BIRDS OF PREY (AND THE FANTABULOUS EMANCIPATION OF ONE HARLEY QUINN) trailer below.

1. The Joker's Not in the Picture

Take that header literally. Harley Quinn announces her emancipation from the DC villain. "Harlequin's role is to serve, it's nothing without a master," says Harley Quinn at the onset of the first preview. Then she comes out and says, "the Joker and I broke up," and it seems she's devasted by it. However, she's about to prove she doesn't need a man and help other women emancipate themselves from "the man." She's about to unleash some rebellion on those who cross her and her sisters. Sort of reminds me Miley Cyrus' rebellion after both her breakups with Liam Hemsworth.

2. Man-handled Again

Ewan McGregor plays the villain, Black Mask and it's his turn to sink his claws into Quinn, but she's not having it.  This crime lord subjects women to violence and puts them on display. Quinn and her gals are about to put a stop to that.  It's an eMANcipation for sure.

3. Sisterhood

We get a first glimpse of the Birds of Prey.  Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain and Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary. While the others don't have much to do in this first teaser, the trailer does reveal a bit of backstory and a few of their bad ass skills.

4. A New Villain in Town

Quinn is going to be a force to reckon with. "I'm the one they should be scared of, not you... not Mr. J," says Quinn. Will she not only be fighting McGregor's crime lord, but perhaps the establishment as well. We hope so.

5. Don't Call Her Chic

You can call Quinn psycho, bitch, crazy, but in the finale to the trailer, she announces don't call her "chick." Not sure why that's an offense but each to their own.

Can't wait to catch these gals in action when BIRDS OF PREY hits movie theaters February 7, 2020.
