TEHRAN stars Niv Sultan and Shervin Alenabi talk about their Apple TV+ espionage thriller from “Fauda” writer Moshe Zonder that tells the thrilling story of a Mossad agent who goes deep undercover on a dangerous mission in Tehran that places her and everyone around her in dire jeopardy. The two actors from opposing countries say the show focuses on the human side of the Iran/Israeli conflict.
Many popular Israeli series have been adapted for American television like HOMELAND, HBO's IN TREATMENT and others. TEHRAN, an 8-episode series, was picked up by the streaming service for American audiences which is a first. The series is mostly subtitled but there's a significant amount of English spoken. The series stars Israeli actress Niv Sultan in the role of Tamar Rabinyan (“Flawless,” “She Has It,” “Temporarily Dead”); critically acclaimed actor Shaun Toub (“Homeland,” “Crash”) as Faraz Kamali; international star Navid Negahban (“Homeland,” “Legion,” “Aladdin”) as Masoud Tabrizi; Shervin Alenabi ("Baghdad in My Shadow”) as Milad Kahani; Liraz Charhi (“A Late Quartet”) as Yael Kadosh; and Menashe Noy (“Big Bad Wolves,” “Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem”) as Meir Gorev.
The series is created by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden and Maor Kohn, and directed by Daniel Syrkin. Omri Shenhar serves as writer alongside Zonder. Syrkin and Shenhar are also co-creators. The series is executive produced by Moshe Zonder, Dana Eden, Shula Spiegel, Alon Aranya, Julien Leroux, Peter Emerson and Eldad Koblenz; and produced by Donna and Shula Productions in association with Paper Plane Productions, with the participation of Cineflix Rights and Cosmote TV.
