CARS 3 may be the best movie in the franchise, and the new cast along with returning favorite Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen talk about what they brought to the Disney*Pixar movie and what it means to be part of the movie franchise. Kerry Washington, Armie Hammer, break out star Cristela Alonzo as the voice of Cruz Ramirez, Owen Wilson, director Brian Fee and producer Kevin Reher sat down at a press conference to talk about their experience on the film.
In CARS 3, Lightning McQueen is blindsided by a new generation of super fast, high tech cars and leaving #95 in the dust. McQueen is pushed out of the only thing he knows and loves. To get back in the race, he teams up with an eager trainer named Cruz Ramirez (Alonso) to gear up for his comeback.
Cristela Alonzo used her experience as a struggling comedian and first generation immigrant for her role as the voice of Cruz Ramirez in CARS 3. Her humble beginnings was brought into Cruz's own struggle and what we get is a heart-felt and funny performance that rivals Ellen Degeneres' Dory. Watch the interview below in which Alonso talks about what she brought to the role.
