FROZEN Songwriters Perform Let It Go Single

Songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez sat down with CineMovie to talk about their contribution to the Disney hit, FROZEN before the films release in theaters last November. Their hit song, "Let It Go" is now up for Oscar nomination. The husband and wife teams perform “Let It Go” on the spot for us and describe the evoluton of the song
FROZEN has gone on to earn over $350 million and still remains in the top 10 at the box office. The Oscar-nominated husband and wife team met at the BMI school for composers and together have made a name for themselves on Broadway and now for Disney. Robert Lopez has already won a Tony®, Grammy®, and Emmy® awards for co-creating the Broadway hits “Avenue Q” and “The Book of Mormon.” Kristen Anderson-Lopez previously worked with Disney on 2011’s Winnie the Pooh and gained notoriety for her off-Broadway debut with “In Transit,” a musical performed entirely without accompaniment, inspired by the rhythms and sounds of life on the subway. For FROZEN, the two collaborated on eight new songs for the soundtrack.
During our sit down with the married songwriters in New York City, the two walk us through the songwriting process, which included being part of the storytelling development. One of Kristen and Robert ‘s original song for FROZEN, “Let It Go” is performed by Demi Lovato and appears over the end credits. Idina Menzel performs the song in the film as the Snow Queen/Elsa.
