The world knew Paul Walker as one of the stars of Fast & Furious franchise, but he was about to become an actor on another level. In HOURS, he plays a grief-stricken father after his wife dies giving birth to his daughter. The film is set in New Orleans hospital in 2005 when Hurricane Katrina brought destruction to the area. When rising flood waters and a power outage threaten his premature daughter who needs a ventilator to survive, he faces a life-and-death situation for the next 48 hours.

Cut off from the world, Paul Walker’s character acts alone in eighty-percent of the film. It’s something different for the action star who gives a good range of his talents in the suspense thriller. He was proving that he could hold his own and move away from action flicks. Having produced the film shows a new direction he was looking to take with his career. That adds to the sadness of losing this talented actor.
