'The Lion King' 2019 Movie Review: Funnier Than The Original

Why are people hating on THE LION KING remake? I liked it a lot more than I expected and it was funnier than the original. And who doesn't enjoy watching cute animals on screen. Watch the video above for our take on the Disney classic reboot.

Jon Favreau directs the live-action remake of Disney's classic THE LION KING. It's definitely a marvelous feat in filmmaking in a photorealistic environment with CGI characters.  The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon.

The scene-stealers are Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon and John Oliver as Zaza. They brought some fresh humor to the roll and their scenes were definitely the highlights. I had issues with one certain actor and I talk about that in the video above. I failed to mention in the video about Ejiofor's performance as Scar. He made it his own rather than imitating Jeremy Iron's version of Scar. I appreciated his take and you, too, would fall for his lies like Simba did.
