Diego Luna Andor season 2 news

And that’s a wrap for Andor season two production, according to a social media post by star Diego Luna. The Star Wars spin-off began pre-production during season one’s run on Disney+ in late 2022.

The critically acclaimed STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE prequel was delayed numerous times with the writer, and actors strike in 2023. The 12-episode series began production 15 months ago which is considerably long for an episodic project.

Luna's Instagram post thanked the crew for their hard work and journey in the making of Cassian Andors’ journey from a smuggler into an ally of the Rebel Alliance.

Today is the last day of filming Andor. I could not be more thankful to the entire crew for this amazing experience and the years of hard work.

More than 700 people have worked on this production, and it is impossible to say goodbye and thank you to everyone individually, which is why I write here. THANK YOU for the love and the wonderful experience.

See you soon.

Showrunner/creator Tony Gilroy imagined the Andor series as a two-season arc that leads to the events of ROGUE ONE. The "See you soon" may be referencing the marketing aspect which will reunite the cast and filmmakers. The returning cast includes Stellan Skarsgard, Adria Arjona, Genevieve O'Reilly, Denise Dough and Kyle Soller

As the production moves into the post production phase, the release date may not be until 2025 given the level of CGI in the series.
