Marvel Comic Book Character Miles Morales Is Getting A Spider-Man Movie

There were many speculations that Danny Glover would play Miles Morales in the new Spider-Man live action movie, HOMECOMING but there hasn’t been any confirmations about that. However, we now know that the Black Hispanic fictional teen from the Marvel Comics will be the lead of Sony Pictures Animation as the new Spider-Man.

Marvel’s first mixed superhero was first introduced in 2011 after Peter Parker’s death in the Ultimate Fallout #4 issue.

The untitled animated SPIDER-MAN movie will be released December 21, 2018. The film is written by Phil Lord and executive produced by his longtime partner Christopher Miller. The two filmmakers talked about their work on the animated SPIDER-MAN via a pre-recorded video from London where the two are currently in pre-production for the stand alone Han Solo movie. The duo say they wanted to focus on proving that anyone of any race or gender can wear the mask.

The animated feature will be directed by Bob Pershichett and Peter Ramsey. Avi Arad, Amy Pascal are also executive producing.
